So I am looking at buying a ZT 0562. The thing is I see them in different steels, Elmax, 204P, 20CV and 35VN. I am not too worried about CF or G10.

Which of these steel options seems to be the best with the geometry and heat treat that is used in the ZT 0562?

Thanks for any opinions.

Mine is CF with s35vn and I think the knife is just about perfect!
Haven't used one in any of the other steels, but I doubt you'll be sorry with any one of them!
If you do pick one up, you're gonna love it!!
Good luck!!

I have a ZT0562CF-CTS204P in my edc rotation, and I like everything about it, including the steel. Since I put a near-mirror Wicked Edge on it, all I have done is strop it.

I also have a ZT0562-M390, but it's BNIB, so I don't have any experience with that particular knife, but have great success with other ZTs with M390 blade steel.

the ZT0562 will be best with 204P, 20CV, or m390. they are essentially the same steel, seems they switched based on whats available and prices. the elmax and s35vn are there budget steel's and are softer and easier to sharpen, but m390 is not too bad sharpening wise, but will take longer.

They're all good steels. The M390 variants will hold an edge longer. Elmax will be the toughest and hold a good edge. Elmax is my favorite.

Those are all good steels. My 0562 is Elmax and I am very impressed with it. Great edge holding and easy enough to maintain that sharpness.

Thanks or the responses. Yes I know they are all good steels but I was hoping for someone to be able to offer experience which is better for the blade grind and HT that ZT uses.

I have a ZT 0566 with Elmax that I am happy with but would like to know if the 204P or 20CV or 35VN work better with the blade on the 0562.

BTW, I absolutely hate the default font for this forum now.
