Which ZT Folders Have a 4 inch Blade or Close to It?

Hey all.

I’d like to get some help on this question, please. I prefer folders with bigger blades. I’ve been looking a bit at the ZT folders to see which models have a large blade. So far I’ve only found 1, the ZT 0452, which is listed at 4 inches.

Can you knowledgeable ZT owners list other ZT folders that have large blades? What folders from ZT have blades from around 3.75 to 4 inches or slightly more?

Any help you care to give will be appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

0200 (4", discontinued)
0300 (3.75", disc)
0640 (3.75")
0462 (3.65")
0308 (3.75")
.

Many more than that.

I own over 40 ZTs and one reason that I started collecting them was because so many of them were made w/4" blades (+/- 0.25").

Here's the list of 4" ZT folders that I've come up with:

0055
0200
0300
0301
0303

0308
0400
0452
0462
0560

0561
0600*
0606*
0620
0630

0640
0650ST Auto
0777*
0804
0850

0888*
0909
0920
0999*

It you are willing to include 3.5" blades (+/- 0.125"), there are also the:

0095
0223
0392*
0393
0550

0551
0562
0609
0610ST Auto
0700

0707
0740
0780
0801

Unfortunately, almost all of these knives have been discontinued and many are currently very hard to find on the 2ndary market but they all do come up for sale from time to time.

*/ Note: The 0392, 0454, 0600, 0777, 0888 & 0999 are factory custom and/or limited production models that command higher prices that few people can afford or are willing to pay.

There's also the limited edition 0606 that I've just been made aware of and have added to the list but I've never seen one for sale and I have no idea if 1 has ever been sold and what it might sell for. Should go for quite a bit if it actually exists but I have not yet been able to verify that.

Thank you for your time.

You're welcome. :)

BTW, FWIW, I own 1 or more variations of "most" of the knives listed. I only started collecting knives 4 years ago but I could NEVER amass the same collection now based on far less availability and much higher prices in the current market.

OP - get a 0452cf and call it a day. Other ~4" ZT folders mentioned by far either will cost you a limb (0300/1, 0600, 0560/1, 0804) or IMO are not as good (0200, 0909).

on the exchange right now at a great price.

The 0452 is a favorite of mine. I own 5 variations of it because I love the "look" of it BUT, it is not necessarily the ZT that I'd recommend for an EDC.

The 0452 is basically a sword that you can carry in your pocket. Looks great and it's perfect for stabbing stuff but it's not so great for slicing and other cutting tasks. The same applies to a Spyderco Police which is similarly designed and that also a favorite of mine.

It really depends what the OP's needs/preferences are but for a 4" EDC (that will see limited use) I'd recommend the 0804 (as also recommended by Therom Therom above) because of its light/slim design and "tactical" looks and wide flat drop point DLC blade that would be great for slicing food or other stuff while having a picnic on the lawn or preping lunch in the kitchen BUT for an actual work knife, I'd recommend either the 0560 or 0909 which are HD knives w/standard drop point blades that can handle a wide variety of cutting tasks.

The 0452 really is more for "show" IMO. Nothing "wrong" w/that but not necessarily the type of knife you'd want to use or carry.

However, if you are a "collector" of 4" folders, the 0452 is definitely one that you should own.

0606 is 4 inches.

0606? Thanks for the reference. Never seen or heard of it before and there's not much info available on it on the Net.

It was supposed to have been released in Nov 2016. Looks it was a "limited edition" spin off of the 0609. See: ZT 0606CF Review

It's been a ghost to me but I'll add it to the smalll group of "grail" knives for future reference.

0308 is my favorite zt. The wide blade makes it slice much better. Built like a tank. Close to 4inch blade.

Jeez Louise…..YOWZA!

THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!

I thought it was going to be just a few, certainly no more than 10 or so. Boy was I wrong! I like it that ZT isn’t afraid of big blades like most other makers are.

I’ve had my eye on the 0452 for a while as well as the Spyderco Police serrated.
There’s a couple more big knives I like too like the TOPS CQT Magnum, the MT Bravo and a few less expensive knives from Chinese makers.

Too many knives and too skinny of a wallet!!
I would also really like to have a large OTF like a Troodon and the Guardian Tactical Recon 40.

I better stop thinking about this cause I’m gonna get myself into trouble.

At 4.25 inches and 9.50 overall the 0600 is the biggest I own
Hey we’re knife siblings!!

I have one too. I wonder if it’s the longest folder ZT has made?

Isn’t it lovely and ridiculous? 😀

Hey Pal, which of these knives would you say is the most ridiculous??

Well Buddy, I’ve gotta go with the middle one. ;)

I've also got one! :)

I lucked out buying my 0600 on the Exchange for what I considered a very low price. So, I jumped on it even though it forced me to break my "limit" on knife purchases; albeit only by 10%. I was and still am extremely pleased w/it.

I think it is the most "beautiful" ZT folder by far and my "favorite" based on "looks" alone.

I'm not sure if the 0600 is the longest ZT folder overall but the blade length is definitely the longest, if only fractionally so. You'd have to look to one of the ZT fixed blades -- like the 0100, 0160, 0170 or ZT-9 (the bayonet) -- to find a longer blade; the blade on the 0121 is obviously shorter and the one on the 0180 is the same.

Here's a pic of my 0600 grouped w/a few other "big" ZT folders that I posted somewhere else on the Forum previously:

I've thought about buying an 0308 several times but have always ended up passing on it.

The main reason is the puke tan colored scales on the OEM version.

A well known vendor sells variants of the 0308 w/different colored/types of scales on it and I am still thinking about buying one w/black scales (my preferred color) offered by that vendor BUT I just don't see a reason to buy it when I already own 2 variations of the 0300 (which the 0308 most closely resembles),

I may get one eventually but I'd still rather buy older/discontinued ZTs to backfill my collection rather than to buy anything "new" made by ZT w/in the past couple of years or so.
