heres an idea for you. gimme a forum called WHINE&CHEESE for all the misunderstood humor and bashing and name calling and all. i see some moderators her have MORE than 1 forum!! c'mon now dont be greedy. besides i betg it would be one of the busiest forums you have

I'm not ready to open a forum where people can bash each other at this time. I don't think it will serve a greater good - and will do more harm than good.

If you guys want to bash each other, feel free to do so by private email, but I really don't want to open Pandora's box and encourage bashing, flames and insults on one forum, only to find it spilling over onto the rest of the forums as a whole.

Remember, the goal is to better educate and inform the knife industry as a whole, and as such, we're better off with calm, rational discussion than tearing up the drapes and peeing in the plants. Not that such behavior isn't fun and relaxing, but I just don't think it's appropriate at this time.

Maybe in the future, but not right now. For the time being, chat seems to work wonderfully for it, and better yet, what is said there tends to stay there, without spreading like wildfire all over the place. Last thing some of us need is to act badly and never live it down - what you say publically *will* come back to haunt you after all...

Spark, maybe Hermanknives can open his own forum, like others out there, one that is off of his knife page? EZBoard has them for free, Go for it Hermanknives and don't forget the cheddar.....

It would work only if you opened a second forum, The Color Commentary Forum, where we could discuss the bashing going on in the first forum. The rules would be simple: anyone participating in an ongoing thread in the Whine and Cheese Forum would not be allowed to participate in the Color Commentary Forum. Participants in the CC Forum must confine their discussions to the ongoing bashings in the W&C Forum. Any fights that might break out in the CC forum must be moved to the W&C forum immediately (thus disqualifying their participants from the CC forum for the durration of that thread). Of course, participation in the W&C is entirely voluntary and those who do choose to enter it must understand that they have done so at their own risk.

This would be a great resource for moderators since when threads get out of hand in other forums, they could just be moved to the W&C. "Break if up, gentlemen, or take it out back!" as it were.

Well , the idea of a "friendly" Wine & Cheese/Steak&Whisky Forum sounded OK for me . A place to have some fun "chating/discussions" on a humourus basis , for ALL sorts of humour , Herman type AND Mayo type . If you give some sarcastic comments you have to take some too , without getting angry . (No insults , etc.)HAVE FUN ! Í don´t know if there are a similar saying in english-spoken countries ,but in Sweden we have a saying that goes : Treat other people the same you , yourself , wants to be treated !
Have a knife , friendly , day/year !!
