I recently got a Bark River knife and one of the corners is too sharp and digs into the palm of my hand. Can I polish it smooth without messing up the wood. It is Whiskey Fire handle. The handle is nice and polished from factory. I am leery of trying to polish it smooth with something (denim maybe), and winding up with a dull area.

Might try the denim with some polishing or buffing compound. I don't have one of these knives, but the handle looks like it might be stabilized laminated wood; if it is stabilized (impregnated with resin, which makes it water-resistant), buffing compound should work easily on it. I don't know if denim by itself would do much in removing the hard edge, but it can't hurt to try. If neither quite gets it done, use some high-grit wet/dry sandpaper (1000-2000+ grit) with very light burnishing passes, then follow again with the buffing/polishing compound on the denim. If you wrap the sandpaper over a softish sanding block of some type (a rubber block eraser can work well for this), and focus on contacting the sharp edge itself and not the surrounding area around it, I doubt you'd have any troubles getting the polished look back, after the light high-grit sanding. Make sure to sand only a few strokes at a time, checking frequently for the feel of the edge in your palm; no need to over-sand it, if it's not necessary.
