So im looking for something a bit nicer than my standard. I'd like to stay in the $100.00 range and nothing with a cinnamon taste. Im used to wild turkey 101 and good ol' shine ,Makers Mark,Jim,Jack,ect....I think you get my point. Thanks in advance all.

+1 for highland park

or SCAPA 16 year

oh, i know it is rum but you gotta try some pyrat planters gold or zacapa 23yo

Sounds like your into Bourbon, those names sound familiar from back in the day. Also remember some serious tequila hangovers from south of the border excursions when I was in the service:thumbup:;)
I have been drinking Scotch lately, Macallan 12 yr old is pretty good. It runs about 50 per bottle.
Cheers,
Gus

For bourbon what are your thoughts on the Blantons or Blantons Special Reserve? I find them quite tasty with a bit of a buttery finish, and significantly under $100 (even here).
For whisky and Scotch maybe a 12 year Glenfiddich or Glenmorangie? The Glenmorangie Lasanta (I think) is really nice.

Try Belle Meade.....very smooth and in the $50 range

Of Course...................everything's Smoove at the bottom of the bottle:D

Willet pot still reserve about $40 and a cool bottle to boot. Very buttery

Or you could try and find some Pappy!

I see you're in Virginia - have you tried the Catoctin Creek rye yet? About $40 a bottle and everyone I've fed it to loves it.

Sazerac Rye ($25) has been my go-to whiskey for some time, but lately I've found myself really liking Lagavulin 16YO ($86) neat, which is sort of strange, given the fact that I don't generally like peaty Scotch. For something a little different, Yellow Rose rye whiskey ($37) is nice.

You are already in the ballpark, time to step it up a notch or two. Wild Turkey Rare Breed.

What about Pritchards or Four Roses. Both are over 90 proof (your basic Wild Turkey is 55).

I've been digging Knob Creek single barrel. I get a nice caramel and vanilla undertones. Of course it in 120 proof so after a bit you won't much care what it tastes like. It's very good methinks.

There's plenty of good bourbon in the $25 range, so far you've tried the "mainstream" labels, branch out a little, I think you'll be surprised. Evan Williams Single Barrel is pretty damn good, liked the 2002 best so far, it's only $21.
Eagle trace is great too. This guy writes some good reviews, I agree with him so far: http://sourmashmanifesto.com/

Blanton's, Basil Hayden, Eagle Rare
Bulleit for lower cost but still tasty

I want to know where to find Lagavulin 16 for $86 -- around here it's $50 more than that!
