Okay this is the first time using this wood, it's a very interesting handle material. This is stabilized Silver Vine, supposedly it comes from Mexico, I got it at the Vegas Knife Show in January.

Specs:
Steel: S30V Hand Rubbed
Blade Length: 4"
Overall: 8.5"
Bolsters: 416SS Dovetailed, Hand Rubbed Finish
Handle: Stabilized Silver Vine (I think it might also be called Stone Vine)
Pins: 416SS & Mosaic

Thanks for looking,
Sean

That is a REALLY nice looking knife. That handle material suits it perfectly. I think you made a good score there.

Wow! That has some great figuring. Does the picture capture the real color, though?i suspect the picture is slightly washed out. Would love to see a picture which captures the true color. Thanks for posting this, Sean, i'm going to keep my eyes open for that wood.

The Silver vine is a good looking wood. The first I have seen. Great looking knife also.

I'd love to get some of that wood. Do you know who supplies it? I looked it up on the internet but couldn't find anything significant about it.

Thanks guys.

I got this stuff from a company called Gallery Hardwoods. He should have more.

Awesome knife! But, I'm afraid that very cool looking wood steals the show from the blade. This is not a slam on your metal-work as it is superlative. It's just that wood is very appealling to the eye. Any chance of getting a pic of the other side?

Thanks for sharing this exquisite piece!

One thing I've almost always noticed when using wood on my handles and seeing other makers work is that there seems to be a good side to wood and a not as interesting side. That is not the case with this piece. It's equally good looking on both sides and that is icing on the cake.

Again, this is a beautiful knife you've made here, Sean!

Thanks again for sharing it with us!

Thanks guys your comments are appreciated.

Looks like this one will be the only Silver Vine knife on my table at Blade this year. With my other commitments I don't think I'll get any more wood handle knives ready in time.

Oh well at least I'll have one to show this wood off.
