Just got done hooking up the forge to the propane lines and I am having proplems with the regulater. The regulater that I have now runs my shop furnace and isnt letting enough propane through to run my forge. So now I will get a seprate regulater for just the forge can anyone tell me how many pound regulater I will need? The whisper I have is a three burner, but I am not even sure how many BTU it puts out.Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks Rod

I have a 1/4" X 1/4" FPT 3-35 lb Fisher Propane Regulator Model number 67CH-743 with handwheel and 0-30 PSI gauge.

Have been talking with the Cenex man and he has suggested a adjustable regulator. Also spoke with gentleman I bought the used forge from and he said he ran it at around 2-3 pounds of pressure. So it sounds like your Fisher propane regulator is just what I need. Thank you so much for the help

Contact nc tool and get the proper regulator for your forge. Mine has a high pressure propane regulator with a pressure gauge that came with the forge. If you don't run it at the proper pressures you run a risk of all type of bad things that could happen.

You can also get in touch with your local propane company. They can get you an adjustable propane regulator.

Be aware of other people's pressure readings. There is no way to know what setup they had, and if it was accurate. I run my Lowboy on a 0-15PSI regulator. Mainly I run between 2 and 5 pounds. Ellis sells the regulators, hoses, ball valves, and quick connect fittings ( I highly recommend adding this feature).
