Good Day,

I am ordering some toys to play with, and whistles are one of them.

I have a couple, a Fox40 Classic, a Storm, an Acme 635, and an Acme 649. And I plan on getting an Acme Tornado 2000.

What other good whistles are there?

Let's talk about whistles.

MDP,

The best whistle I've found is the USCG/USN ACR Whistle. It's small, very flat, and extremely loud. It comes in international orange color, so it's easily found in dim light or when/if dropped.

I get them through Eastern Mountain Sports.

PS ... If weight isn't an issue, the ASP Whistle is great, too.

sgtmike88- Thanks for the tip, I think I will pick one of the USCG/USN ACR Whistles up.

What do you like about the ASP Whistle?

Dave B- I'll check that out.

MDP,

I like things that are built like a tank, like Beckers and Busses and Glocks. That describes the ASP, it's small, but built from thick stainless steel. Loud, too.

Hi Marion,

Get an ACME 2000 Tornado whistle in Blaze Orange and cut of the side pieces that they just put on it to make it look like an ordinary referee whistle. This makes it an about 3/8" high flat whistle with 2 different frequencies that is so loud that I carry a couple of earplugs with it.
It's a cheap solid (although not stainless steel like SGTMIKE88's whistle

) platic whistle that really carries a long distance.
Still take care of your ears while playing around with it and carry earplugs.

Best scouting wishes from Holland,

Who else online offers a good selection of whistles? I still use an old black plastic Acme (going on 30 years) and admittedly don't use it too much these days, but am always looking for better gear.Whatever, it must be able to hang on a belt keeper on my Sam Browne .Thanks!
