I need a really load whistle for a rat/survival kit. I would like a small but very loud whistle.

The one TOPS do is good as is the 'jet scream'.

Fox 40s are great. Classics are nice and loud, minis have a higher pitch. The pearls are a lower tone, good for close signaling and not carrying too far. They also make a flatter one good for kits. Not too much experiance with those yet, but seem to be loud enough to do the job

I really like the howler whistle from goinggear.com. I also have Jetscreams, marine whistles by ITW Nexus, and so on.

I have the flatter one, Fox 40 Micro, and I love it just a great whistle. I wear mine around my neck all day while at work and forget its there as soon as I put it on. Plus it is really loud.
