Hey guys i'm going to buy a whistle but I don't know what one. I need it to be pretty loud like <100 db and it has to be silverish satin finish. Not black or blue or any of those funky colors. I really like Atwood's ones but I cannot afford one does anybody know a place that sells ones like it. Kind of cylinder shaped ones.

Pretty easy to get one of these and take the color off. It will come off by steel wool or chemical means.

I ordered the grey ones. I ordered three of them. One for my keychain, one for my wifes keys and another to attach to a neck knife.

It doesnt matter what color they are to me so I got the grey ones because they were on sale and the black ones werent. Either way they are dirt cheap. I just hope they are loud. But I am sure they are as I have ordered from them before and their descriptions of their products are always spot on.

When you get them can you post some stuff about them? I think those could work well I would just have to remove the coating with some steel wool.

When they arrive I will definately do a report on them. I know you said you dont care for logo's on your stuff so I will see how easy the logo rubs off. I believe the logo will come off and leave the grey finish behind but we will see.

That would be ideal. I like the grey finish on them but i'm not a fan of logos.

They are laser engraved, so you won't be able to rub them off. Sorry. :o

Last summer I bought a bullet whistle and howler whistle from Goinggear to try out. The Grey Howler is on my keyring clipped to my belt. I reccomend them to friends looking for a good whistle for camping/survival.

I recieved my whistles today and they are awesome. They are very loud and apparently my dog doesnt seem to like them at all. She is currently hiding under the bed and wont come out.

Anyways, they fit on a keychain great. They are about about two and a half inches long. And I know that BenLankford posted that he doesnt like logos printed on gear but the logo doesnt bother me at all. The print is small and now when someone asks me where I got my whistle from, I can show them the website and tell them to order with confidence. By the way Goinggear.com rocks!!:thumbup:

Anyways here are some pics:
