I am sure this topic has been gone over before but here it goes. I am getting ready to order my first Izula and I can not decide on if I should buy the whole kit or just the knife and the sheath. Any suggestions?

I got mine with the whole kit. If you can afford the extra money the spare parts are pretty handy. The rings and clip are nice for different mounting options. It's always good to have a whistle handy and the firesteel is small and good piece of gear to have a few of if you are out in the woods. Here's a pic of how mine is set up.

I used the clip and one of the rings for my RAT firesteel.

Either way, as long as your order includes the knife part I'm sure you be more than happy :)

Mine ends up in my front pocket daily with none of the kit goodies, just the Izula. The kit seems very cool and mabey some day.....but for now I edc my Izula knife only.

Good point Jeff. If you plan on using the Izula for EDC the extra gear would be less useful.

The difference in price is minimal. Around $10. I would go with the kit, the extras can/will come in handy.

The whistle cord end is darned cool.
cord and cord lock are handy but unexciting.
The firesteel is nifty, and hard to find one like it elsewere.
The molle clip is useful if you might ever want to put it on a pack or web gear.

I haven't personally found a use for the snap hook or the split rings.
Though post #2 above seems solid.

Overall I'm glad I got the kit, but I probably wouldn't if i ever get a second Izula

I figured when I bought mine that I'd make or already have kits for the same purposes. It could be cool to have it all in one place though.

Well dont forget the sheath... thats an important part for front pocket carry! ;)

I got the kit, but I usally dont carry anything but the knife and sheath. however, if I'm hitting the trail, I gear up.

I would opt for the full Kit just because it has some cool items & I really like the firesteel that comes with :D

By the time you end up ordering even just the paracord (if you don't have any), a cheap firesteel and pay shipping, you may already equal or exceed the cost. Throw in all the other stuff and count them as freebies.
