White Elephant

For our "holiday" work party every year we do a White Elephant gifting brewhaha. A white elephant giveaway is where you make a pile of gifts. Each person draws numbers to designate the picking order. After the first person picks a gift the next picks another gift, but at this point can switch with the previous picker. This goes on (with an ever expanding pool of "stealable" items) until you get to the end. The person who picked first then gets the option to steal from the pool with all options. We also play once a prize has been stolen twice(has been in the hands of three people total) it is out of the pool and can no longer be stolen.

I don't know how we would work it in here BUT.... Just a thought. Your thoughts?

I agree 100%, if it were pull-off-able it'd be real neat though. Reality bites.

We do it each year. This year's limit is $15 spent. Trick is to get creative in your packaging. I'm in with an Opie #6 in Inox. Hopefully I can convert another team member, LOL.

Folks, Gary and I talked, and we are going to close the this thread. We both agree it's a fun idea, but would be a nightmare to keep everything straight. Too much opportunity for someone to come away bummed instead of happy.
