Is there a better knife than the spyderco ENDURA?
I have the white frn one. I have had it for a month plus now.

There is something about this knife that makes me want to grab it all the time. 'Though I have more expensive knives. I don't know if it is the frn? Its my first frn knife and I like it more than g10 and aluminium and steel.

It seems light yet strong with enough blade length.

What can I say. There is something mystical about this knife:D
love it.
Let me know if there is a knife that has the qualities of the endura.

white,light, strong, long, and addictive

Check out the Pacific Salt in yellow or black. It's lighter than the E4 and impervious to rust.

I believe that everyone has one knife that is their "go to" blade...even if it's something like an Endura. It doesn't have to be a Sebbie or a Busse for it to be your favorite. Everyone just has that one blade that if someone says "got a knife?" you're like hell yeah, my ____

I have owned 3 Enduras over the past few years, trying to like them but never able to. The ergos on the handles don't fit me at all because my middle finger rest on the first "peak" of the fisnger grooves. The blade is thick with a very low hollow grind which seems to inhibit cutting thick stuff like carpet and cardbord. I can appreciate wanting a strong blade, but not at the expense of cutting ability. I can see how it would be a fantastic knife if it fit your hand and you used it to cut certain things.

Having said that, I just recieved a FG G-10 Endura today and really like it. The G-10 is a bit nicer than the FRN (which I liked on the original Endura), but it's the full flat ground blade that I love. The knife has beautiful distal taper that creates a point so fine it LOOKS like it could snap off if the light hits just right (love a nice thin point and haven't broken one yet...). The tip actually FEELS quite strong but slices great and will sharpen a lot easier than a thick ground blade.

If you don't want something in G10, give the Centofante a look. It has a smooth FRN handle and a very thin blade that cuts well.

I've got a Pacific Salt and Delica 4 in ZDP-189. While I kind of agree about the thick Endura/Pacific Salt blade profile, the same shape is amazing on the thinner Delica blade. For some reason that dinky little thing can cut cardboard, plastic, envelopes or anything I throw at it--often better than bigger blades. On top of that the pointy tip gets in small places and short blade has good control for 'delicate' work. Maybe it's the ZDP-189, but I choose the Delica very often.

Ahem, gentlemen. See thy future of blades.:D

But really, if you love your Endura that much, it may just be the one ultimate knife for you.

Well that would certainly put an edge to the edge retention debates.

I love the Endura. I’ve got a lot of knives but the Endura is one of the few that I actually carry and use. Its blade shape and length is just about perfect. The knife is light yet strong. Its one of my favorite knives, certainly one of my most used knives.

There’s a good reason why its been a benchmark of the Spyderco line for so long.

The white FRN Endura 4 is my current favorite of all the Enduras. I've been collecting and using them since the early 90's. It's the best looking Endura so far, IMO. I can't get into the new G-10 models of the Endura and Delica- I feel the blade is just too thin for a full flat grind. Even though I'm probably mistaken, I'm convinced I'd break the blade if I didn't hold back while using it. (I tend to be very hard on my knives) But the FRN E-4s are just right. I didn't like the new tip design at first, but now that I've gotten used to it, I like it.

For me, the current Enduras are the best FRN knives ever made.

For the record, the Endura 4s have a flat saber grind blade. The Salt 1 and Pacific Salt are hollow ground.

I love my E4. I can't think of a better all-around knife. And it's gonna get better when I flat-grind mine :D
