I use Whitel Lightning to oil my endura. How often should I be doing this? just when it needs it, or on a frequent basis? any tips? is white lightning OK?

Welcome to Bladeforums!

White Lightning is very OK. Use it when the pivot feels gritty when you open the knife, or after washing or flushing out dirt and grease.

Don't drink it though. It isn't the same as the other white lightning, which is bad enough. :)

I haven't used it on knives for a while, but it's great for your bike chain.

On knives, I always used it as more of a cleaner than a lube. If I had a dirty lockback that was pinned together, I'd put a bunch of White Lightening in it, and work the action about 200 times to get all of the gunk out. Then I'd run it under hot water and work the action alternately to get a bunch of the wax out. It really cleaned them out well and the action was superfast when I was done.

Gerard122,White Lightning and Pedro's Ice are great chain lubes and work equally well on FRN handled knives such as Your Endura,Cold Steels offerings, etc.I 've used it in this application for several years, even before I owned a computer and found this great site. For other steel lined knives I still use oil as a lube. The advantage for the wax based lubes is the lint doesn't collect as bad.But I prefer the oil as a lube/rust preventative on conventional knives.Just My two cents worth.Welcome to the Forums.tom.:)

I like the White Lightening because its cleaner. I also had good luck with Tetra oil, as its thicker than Militec and a lot of other oils, so it stays in place a lot better.

Ive never really used it much till recently when I sent a handmade out to a friend of mine and used it after adjusting the pivot. I was suprised that it worked as well as it did. I usually use tuf-glide, which I still do, but the white lightening worked really well on the pivot. I stil prefer tuf-glide though, as a protectant for blades.
