Man oh man, I used some on my knives for the first time this week. I was very happy, but in about 15 minutes, I smelled something like my taster was on fore with a fish in it. I looked in my kitchen, and nothing. I go back to my knives, and I smell it again. 20 minutes later, I get a good whiff off of one of them. Man, does that stuff stink! Works great, though..

Huh  :p

To be honest, I have been using White Lightning for years and never noticed a bad smell. It does have shelf life though so I wonder if yours somehow went rancid?

Maybe a quick call to the company would find out.

Does the stink last long or just until the liquid evaporates?

I've been using the chain lube versions of WL for about a decade, and never really noticed a smell once the solvent evaporated.

Maybe his taster really was on fore with a fish in it? ;)

um, it did evaporate, ane I did put too much on. oh yeah-Toaster on Fire..Duh.--Joe
