I just wanted to tell Andy how much I love the white linen he uses.

Several months ago, I bought a white Kephart on the Flea Market... WOW! It was MUCH prettier in hand than in pics! I just got my hands on a white Karda - the same thing... WOW! How gorgeous these knives are in person. They look nice in pics, but the pictures really do not do these knives justice!

What other knives look so much better or different in person?

I know a Camp Knife is MUCH more when live in your hand!!! :)

I'm glad to hear you say so Willic; just ordered the KPH white linen from last Friday's bunch. I was wanting a KPH but was on the fence about the white linen so I watched it sit there for almost three days before I finally bought it. I'll let you know in a few days when it arrives whether I share your opinion. Just never thought of white as a knife handle color before.

I asked Andy the other day how well the white linen ages over time and he said it's beautiful, almost like bone. Ricsha, that KPH you picked up is fantastic, I was glad to see it find a home. That is one of my favorite knives that Andy makes, and this one has a real nice feel to it. Same can be said for that recluse, it's a real beautiful knife.

I have a Recluse in coffee burlap with black and orange racing stripes that I just received. The fiddleback Friday pics were great as well as the seller's, but when I had it in my hands, Wow!! The pictures just didn't come close to how vivid the orange really pops!

The natural G10 is very similar in its aging. I passed on a bolstered white linen Hiking Buddy some years ago, starting to kick myself for that now,,,

The Shadetree Burlap is something else. I'm falling for that stuff hard. I have a KE bushie in electric orange burlap and it just glows. But more than that...it's my favorite grip feel. Just the right blend of smooth and "grip-y". There's nothing I'd rather have in the woods now.

The burlap is really nice! It seems to develop different character with each knive... colors vary, weave vary, it's cool stuff.

I am really looking forward to some of this light colored micarta aging! I know bakelite ages and develops oxidized outer layers, it becomes richer looking... I hope these modern resins are similar.

A white knife is really good in the busy kitchen, hard to loose!

I guess asking for pics defeats the purpose of the thread huh?

I almost asked for pics, then thought that it doesn't make much sense. I'd still like to see some though. :)

In terms of the difference as they age... Anyone got some pics of a before and after that kinda shows it?

As some one who constantly takes pictures of knives, I would say all of my custom knives look better in person. I know I suck at photography but I have had a friend of mine, who happens to be a professional photographer, come over and help me with some custom photos. Even those pics did not do a custom justice! It is so hard to capture how beautiful the finish and feel of a custom knife is through a picture. Sometimes you just have to hope the buyer gets the general idea!
