I don't even have the BK2 yet and I'm looking at handle slabs already.
I have 1/2"-3/4" sheets of white polyethylene from where I used to work, we used it to make wet benches for the semi conductor industry, it's chemically resistant except for a some solvents, it's not rock hard, is easy to work with and is pretty durable.
Other than the solvent issue, (I'll have to look up what affects it) the only other thing I can think of that is not good is that it is durable but it is subject to shear stress, I've had sheets snap in half but I don't think that be an issue with the smaller piece required to make a set of scales.
Anybody have any clue as to how good of a material this would make for scales? I know it's pretty tuff stuff we used to make all kinds of stuff outta it.
I'm just curious if any of you folks had any experience using a material like this?
If this stuff isn't good for scales I'll just have to make do with the black walnut I have laying all around the yard.
Now of to check out some of the mods you guys have done.
