I like the look of this knife and want to try out some s30v steel. Is anyone familiar with this company, or even better this particular knife? I can't find much on White River Knife and Tool in general.

Worried a little bit about how thin it is, but this would be a fairly med-light duty slicer/neck knife. Thoughts? Any other suggestions for a light, thin fixed blade with good stainless and a blade under 3"?

I love the blade profile it's like a little Nessie of a sort. Also the handle while a bit contemporary should make out fine for general use. All in all this looks like a fine minimalist kind of knife.

They used to be Orion knives and they are great knives. I have a caper in CPM154 and it is outstanding.

The Knucklehead skeleton knife made with S30V stainless steel, tempered and chisel sharpened, Came out of the box Hair shaving sharp. Came with a Kydex sheath and fittings for either a paracord around the neck carry or a belt clip, I didn’t use the belt clip portion so – no opinion – with paracord this design is super light to wear around your neck.

My Previous neck knife was a Spyderco Street Beat – and the Knucklehead is Waaay lighter and less obvious than that. My previous skeleton style knife was a Buck Paklite – The Knucklehead was even lighter than that.

This past weekend It went on a camping and kayaking trip near Gunnison Colorado, I made a decision to have it be my primary EDC for the weekend. It performed food prep – Veggies, Fish Cleaning and Bread Buttering effortlessly- This thing is wicked sharp and an excellent slicer being so thin. The handle was surprisingly comfortable even for extended whittling sessions.I have medium sized hands (I suppose) so YMMV. The Handle does lend itself for more delicate work but Other chores like rope cutting, nylon strap cutting, duct tape cutting, paper slicing it managed just fine. Blade shape makes this a pure utility knife in my opinion - and if that's all you expect from it, it was Aces.

It got a bit damp in the Kydex while we were out on the water, but there were no problems with the S30V, it took a touch up from a ceramic stone just fine and kept a super edge, a little cleaning and a wipe down and everything was cool.
For the price it can’t be beat.
My two very very minor gripes…
Knife rattles just a touch in the kydex.
I like the handle and the balance of the blade – I’d like it just a touch bigger for both.

Thanks for the write up man! Looks sweet and read you said it was comfortable, but how do you actually hold it? Index finger through the hole next to the blade or in the little notch on the bottom of the tang?

Had not thought about it till you asked

About 50/50 - index finger through the hole was/is surprisingly comfortable.

Also held with middle finger through the hole and index along the spine - also really comfy
