Occasionally I see a h.i. khukuri with white stag handle and white metal. I think a m43 or the ang khola would look gret this way with a tan colored sheath and white metal protective tip.Are these around often?

Someone actually posted a pic of something similar, not too long ago. But such beauties are not common; stag handles are more typically "treats" for some special, high-end models. In fact, last I'd heard, the kamis were having particular trouble finding suitable stag/antler material in quantity. Of course, if you *have* a suitable piece, you can send it in (as we all did last year, with a huge "Care Package" of materials), and they'll accommodate you.

No. Lots of luck and good timing is needed to acquire these rare offerings. I was just in the right place at the right time. :D

Here is the capstone of my collection and companion for my Antlered handled M43:

It is one of only three Antler handled Uncle Bill Memorial Salyan's made, and belonged to the late Brian Katz.

Good luck in your quest for one of these beautiful Khukuri's.

All cantinistas are required to own a salyan. Only the Illuminati are allowed to possess the antler salyan. (it's like being in the order of the arrow)

does that mean you could send in a nice figured wood such as some kind of burl wood and thell accomodate it for ya?

My Dad (a woodworker) and I sent in a piece of teak wood, and they were able to make TWO, medium-sized knife handles out of it: we got one, HI sold the other. So, it's happened. Just pick carefully!
