White stuff on handles.

I know this has been answered before but I haven't found it.

In 1996 I bought a new Military. I think the handles are carbon fiber but I am not sure. The knife has spent most of the time in the box in the safe.
The other day, when sorting knives, I opened the box and found the handles covered with white stuff. Is this some sort of oxidation? Or fungus? Mold?

More importantly, how do I remove it and keep it gone?

try WD-40 on the G10 handles, should make 'em look new again.
And they are definitely G10 Bill, the Military was never made with Carbon Fiber handles.

Cody over at SFO told me that the G-10 can dry out after sitting for long periods of time. He recommended Ballistol as an agent to renew the material.

I haven't seen this on my G-10 knives, but I always think of an "ashy" knife when people mention it. :D
