Whitewing knives are a high quality line of traditional folding knives being produced by custom maker Bailey Bradshaw. They are production pieces that will be hand finished and assembled to, in Bailey's words, "ensure they are the best traditional production folder on the market, both in performance, and fit and finish."

His first offerings include a two-bladed trapper, a front release lockback, and single and two-bladed "surveyor" patterns. The first run has stag handles and CPM3V for the blade steel.

Here are some pics of the new line:

I should receive the two-bladed trapper from KnifeArt tomorrow. It's great to see some high quality traditional knives with some of the newer steel offerings coming out. I've owned one of Bailey's custom folders, in the past. The quality was outstanding. I expect these will top notch as well.

They look nice, sent them an email to see if they would do a wharncliff lock back for me. Thanks for the heads up Senator...

Kelly, thanks for sharing. Bailey, has filled a very nice niche market with his new company. I wish my "Dance Card" wasn't filled at the moment, I'm still working on fixed blades for my all stag collection. I'll be looking at Whitewing, when I'm ready for some folders. They look great!

Whitewing knives are currently the most hand-made, sole-authored production pieces you can buy. Until the shop is fully equipped and staffed, you're pretty much buying a Bailey Bradshaw handmade, and for those unacquainted, that's one hell of a knife.

A Whitewing pearl lockback (Bailey said he's bringing some fancies...!) is on my VERY short production "buy" list for the Blade Show.

Lockback on order and a wharncliffe slipjoint is up next. Fantastic looking knives...

Gary,

If you get him to do a Lockback w/ a wharncliffe blade let me know maybe we can get a discount!

Sammyb, not likely, got word that right now they don't make it in a lock back, so I opted to get the Trapper slipjoint model with Stag and single blade, the wharncliff model in CPM3V, I'll let you know how that works out.

Bailey is doing some fine work and the success of Whitewing knives is more than promising. In addition, he is a fine person.

His work and the work of Richard Rodgers continue to blow me away. Both young men get better each year and they are fantasic to work with.

I am putting my money where my mouth is since I hope to be picking up a Sheffield style Wharncliff whittler with carved pearl handles from Bailey at the Blade Show and am in line for an engraved doctor's knife of his (we are hoping to pick out the handle material for it – Anyone have any real nice Black Pearl they want to part with?).
I also am in line for at least one of Richard's knives. (Another doctor's pattern)

Now it looks like I will have to pick up a Whitewing too, if there are any left after you guys get to them.

I am here to tell you that they are nice, very nice. Even though my point of view might be considered slanted because I am a dealer for Whitewing, I own sevral of Baileys handmades and have had the opportunity to handle 4 of the whitewings. there is not much difference other than the blade finish is a bit more shiny on his handmades. For those of you that have ordered or are going to order a knife, you will be pleased
