The tomahawk was made by Wayne Whitley and resides in my collection. The picture is mine. Let me know what you think on both counts.

Andrew - very nice on both counts!

Now for the critique

The lighting and colors came out real nice and you created a very cool effect with the props - kind of a woodsy, frontiersman feel. The book, however, seems a bit out of place and detracts a bit from the general 'atmosphere' created by the other objects. Also, I think a different colored background (sand perhaps) would have probably contrasted and highlighted that beautiful haft a little better than the wood background.

The hawk, by the way, looks awesome! Is that a san-mai construction or a very bold temper-line I see there?

Wulf, thanks for the critique. The tomahawk has a tool steel core with a thin layer of nickle silver and a lower carbon steel jacket. I creates a functional and cool looking head.

Very nice hawk, Andrew. Is that a snakeskin wrap under the head?

Brian, it's snake skin that has been stitched up with waxed cording and beadwork.
It all fits together nicely. I had a choice of five tomahawks that Wayne had made when I chose this one; not an easy choice to make.

Thanks for the confirmation, Andrew. That's what it looked like to me but I couldn't be certain.
