Whittler Question

Bought a (what I thought was a 310 Whittler) today at a flea market. It is in great shape, carried some but the blades have not been sharpened. Upon cleaning, I did not have my glasses when I bought it, I realized that is was a 309 with a little arrow pointing up. Checked my dates and could not find an arrow but did see an upside-down v indicating 1988 I think it was. Anyway, my questions are: 1. Is this a 309 or a 310 that has a 309 blade put in it? What would the date be? Thanks for any help. This is a great little knife. I paid $15. Bought one several years ago another flea market and paid $17 for it. Love my Buck knives.

I have the same thing. They're pretty common. It's a 310 because it has 3 blades but the main blade says "309". A real 309 has 2 blades.

Thanks. Found out it is a 2008. Looked at the top of this forum and there was a list of date codes that are up to date. The Companion is one of my favorites to carry.
