Made this one to order for a guy who likes to carve.

2.5 inch blade of loose twist damascus of 1095 and 15n20

guard of the same material with 2 brass pins for dress and the butt piece was the end of the billet

copper effect via copper in ferric chloride.

scales of iron wood, gray JBWeld in file work, with mosaic pins

7 3/8" overall

Trying to get better photos but, can't seem to get enough light
using 1 500 watt quartz and 2 4' full spectrum fluorescents.
help me.

Are you using a light box? In the stickies there are plans for a light box that will improve your photos by leaps and bounds. The light in the box will reflect at many, many angles, with will eliminate glare and shadows and allow you to turn off your flash. You'll get very crisp, clean pictures. They won't be of Coop quality, but much, much better then they are now. A light box helped me a lot.

I think the light box plans in the stickies were actually supplied by Coop.
 
Yes, I made a light box. I am thinking of getting a halide light to add better light. I believe it is a correct lighting issue although I am sure a better camera would also help. Jim
 
Thanks for all nice comments. The important thing happened when I delivered it. The new owner is thrilled and several of coworkers from his work group have came to me with asking about getting knives!
