Whittling hair questions

Seen a vid on you tube where someone whittled on hair. I have a few questions for the members here on the subject, sorry for the lengthy questions but just found it really cool to get a knife to do that.

For those that whittle hair:

1. What knife/model did you use and what type of blade steel on the knife?
2. What type of sharpener did you use, free hand? Lansky?Gatco? Edge pro apex etc etc?
3. What angle did you use in the sharpening?
4. What type of stone did you finish off the final edge? ie grit level? Did you strop it as a final touch to the edge?

Free Hand, Japanese water stones and DMT diasharps.

Roughly 36 inclusive.

Finished at 6000 grit, and stropped.

its been too long ago to remember the brand of knife or angle but i sharpened it on the paper wheels. the grit wheel was a 120 grit and a medium white rouge used on the slotted buffing wheel.

when i used to sharpen freehand i probably could have split or whittled hairs but i never tried.
 
Does the hair have to be free handing and whittled to be considered hair whittling sharp? I can sharpen my knives 30* inclusive on the sharpmaker finish on the standard white stone and then hold the hair in one hand pinched between 4 fingers then whittle slivers pretty dang easily. The edge on my CPM 154 blade feels sticky to the touch, moving your finger along the edge would result in a nasty cut.
 
1. All of my knives are/should be hair whittling (mostly FFG Spyderco's and CRK's)
2. I free hand on DMT diamond stones, up through the Spyderco ceramics (including the Ultra fine), and finish on a strop with 1 micron diamond paste
3. I try to maintain a 20 degree inclusive bevel with a 30 degree inclusive edge
4. The 1 micron diamond paste loaded strop is what I currently finish on. After I move pretty soon I'm going to get together another strop with 0.5 micron diamond spray.
 
I use the Edge Pro and consistently get Griptillian D2 , ZT301/RUCKUS S30V to scary hair splitting sharp. 6000 grit tapes are something else.
