I was just wanting to know how many of us on here make folding knives. Also have you ever ran into this problem: the handle is to fat and for the blade. The knife in progress right now has aluminum liners and brass bolsters with some 2 color dyed wood i picked up from the last knife show i attended like 2 years ago. I like the feel of the handle but it just dose'nt match the blade i have on it and there is no going back now because all the folders i make have different lock sizes where it matches the blade. If a big handed man gets it he might like it the blade falls just under 3 inches. its going to have a pocket clip on it for tip up carry and the openning design is a claw type peace that opens the knife when you pull it from your pocket.

I've made a few liner lock folders, they can be a PITB at times but even talking to Folder makers that have made them for years and years, they tell me the same, so I figure it's just part of it, and the moon phases. :D
I normally make a scale of the folder design I have in mind out of heavy plastic, this lets me make the blade shape, and the liners that fit it along with finding the right spot for the pivot pin hole, I do this by using an ice pick to pin the plactic blade in place with the liners and see how it closes and pivots. I like them but they are time consuming.

I make a folder once in a while. Most have a ti liners and damascus blades. I would make more of them if I could make them faster. Im just too slow in my old age.

I make folders on occasion. At least I used to, been in kind of a slump lately. I'm a little over halfway done with one thats coming out fairly well. Hopefully I'll finish it soon and get back in the groove again. Have a handful of people that want me to make them folders, and I just haven't been able to get going at it :grumpy:

i recently read about making my own knife handle material with 2 ton epoxy i was wondering what you guys thought about making a handle out of jean material? if it dont work ill have only wasted a little time and some glue. on the same note i have found some plastic from work to make handles from too i thinki can get about 4 sides out of one sandwiching of this stuff. one side is textured and the back is smooth i think im going to have to run some sand paper over it to make the glue stick
