For over 10 years now I've been using my Temperance 1, FB05 model in full Spyderedge. I also have and use that same model in plain edge and appreciate it just as much as I do the Spyderedged version. It was a disappointment to me that when they introduced the TEMP 2 model that it wasn't available in Spyderedge. I really believe if people got to do a really demanding job with one of Spyderco's serratted fixed blade models they would be using it a lot.

I am glad that they are re-introducing the Aqua Salt model as it's many people's favorite. Also the Jumpmaster has recently developed a sizable fan base and I'm looking forward to getting one of those. Albeit I still wish that Spyderco would make more of their fixed blades available in full Spyderedge.

I'm sure I'm not alone liking Spyderco's fully serrated fixed blades. Because Spyderco in the past few years has really established themselves very well in the fixed blade market and with them having the best serratted blades on the planet I just wish we could see more models available. Who else uses and appreciates Spyderco's Spyderedged fixed blades? What do you all use them for? What is your favorite model?

The serrated Spyderco kitchen knives get used in my house more than any other knife. I give them as presents, and those that get them say the same thing. I like the full size serrated kitchen knife the best, although the smaller one has its place.

I couldn't agree with you more "brownshoe". I still have and use my first generation K-04 and K-05 models which they have recently re-introduced.

Also the Jumpmaster is very high on my want list>> I've heard nothing but very good reports about the JUMPMASTER.

Yep! My Red K5 gets used every day!
But, I like the serrated folders best for EDC.

I've had my original K-04 & K-05 models for at least 10 years now and I've used the hell out of them as well. Many people tend to overlook Spyderco's great kitchen knives that they've had over the years. I've often wondered why they don't bring back a lot of those models and offer them up as a complete set with insert blocks which would make one awesome gift set IMO.

I've gotten confirmation that the AQUA SaLT has hit many of the prime dealers already. So maybe a few folks are starting to see the value in Spyderco's serrated fixed blades.

JD- I "heard" that Spyderco will be bringing these kitchen knives back. Let's hope.
Re: serrrated blades; Peeps listen to the statements like serrated blade can't be sharpened, blah, blah, and avoid them. I was one of those peeps. Since I "tried" a serrated blade, I now prefer them.

My G2 steel Clipit was half-n-half based on writers going gaga over serrations at that time and saying that version was best of both worlds....i found serrations terrible for most daily chores which for the main required clean smooth cuts.....and useless on finesse cuts or slices and foods....AND, as stated above, rotten for resharpening no matter the "serrated sharpener" gizmo with blade looking NOTHING as it did when new....and i like my sharpening jobs to look professional , while today's sharpening jobs i often see proudly posted appear done with a belt sander even as they brag 3° deg this and 30uM that....a professional appearing sharpening job was the mark of a man who knew knives...where it appeared better than factory when done...

All that being said, a couple of times the serrations proved invaluable when in cramped quarters and maybe cutting blind, and very limited motion to knife was possible....then, it simply could not be beat, and i keep one around just in case a job such as that pops up....i am still waiting, but it is there when and if it does...

I think they are already back in the main line up>> because I constantly see the K-04 & K-05 on their SFO part of their website. They usually don't put stuff up like that unless they have some units available.

As far as people being phobic of sharpening serrated blades all I can say is that it's not so. I've been sharpening all of my serrated blades for quite some time. My favorite tool to use is Spyderco's set of 701 Profiles. They have been discontinued for some time now but I'm hopeful they will eventually return to the main line up. You can also use Spyderco's 204 Sharpmaker which does a decent job but not quite as good as the 701 Profiles IMO. Also DMT has conical diamond tools which work well if they are really banged up bad.

Sharpening serrations? It's just a matter of learning how and believe me it's nothing more than common horse sense>> anyone could apply themselves and learn how to do it.
