How can we find out who the moderators are for the forums and sub forums? Specifically, the For sale, Gadgets and Gear.

I got and ignorant jackass who posted on my for sale post with a dumb ass comment.

Quite simple, first report post, then click on the sub-forum, go to bottom of page and see in bottom right corner who is Mod. Then, you can PM them if you wish.

PS: Be grateful for the inadvertent bump, just do not respond.
They get the infraction. Not you (or warning)

Right, click on the
report.gif
button at the top right corner of the post to send a report to the forum moderators. Their names are also listed at the bottom of the thread list.

Just so you know, he was infracted for the post. You can tell if an infraction is issued on a post if the red and yellow card icon is missing from a the divider line that separates posts (same line that contains the report this post icon, the date, time and post number of the thread).

Chatting (which still tempts me when I see a knife that I like ;)) and posting anything close to negativity in a member's for sale thread is not allowed here.

The reason for those rules are obvious. The chatting kept bringing threads to the top sometimes long after a knife was sold and that upsets the attempts to keep the "playing field as level as possible" for all selling members.

Negative comments are just a common sense protection. We have all levels of experience here and many times a lack of experience can show up in a negative for sale post, so can personalty clashes.

if the red and yellow card icon is missing

I think that icon is only visible to moderators.

You can tell an infraction or warning was issued by the red or yellow rectangle added to the bottom right corner of the post. That's visible to everyone.

Should be visible to everyone, since infractions are visible to everyone.

Can you link to an example??? (Not me, please!) ;)

How long is the red/yellow rectangle visible for???

The red/yellow icon is the icon that a moderator clicks to issue an infraction or warning. I don't believe it's visible to non-moderators.

You can see a red rectangle at the bottom right corner of a post that got an infraction, such as this spam. If the post got a warning there would be a yellow rectangle in the same place.

Most infractions expire; I suppose the rectangle would fade away then. Major spam does not expire so that post will still have the red card whenever you get around to looking at it.

Ah, I see...Thanks! :)

So it's the *post* that gets the rectangle, not the individual. The individual just gets the "Infraction" under their location.

What is the significance of the parenthenized number after the number of infractions??? I see I have a "10" after my "01", but one of the Walk The Plankers has a "100"...

Thanks for all the info! I was interested in the icons & stuff on the Forum thread windows, and what they do/are for, rather than the infractions themselves! :D

There's still a lot of things in this Forum that I have no idea what they are for or do...

Sorry for wandering so far from your subject, WTF! ;)
