I can't make much out as the photos are too small to see the details on the tang stamping on both sides of the tang. You can't always go by the boxes, coffins, the razors came in because they are often mismatched to the razor. Just by the boxes, the first one is a Swedish razor and the second a German razor but what is stamped on the tang will tell you for sure.

Bob Thanks..I'm new to the forum and don't know how to provide larger pix. The actual shots are hi-rez 2330 x 1534 and run a couple mb per each. I kept 'resizing them' until they would 'upload. I'll try here again to ' Insert' see if I can provide a larger shot. No luck x 4..I'll try by 'replying' to the thread.

Sorry I can't tell much more except to say it looks like the Charlescraft razor matches the box it came in. Not a real expert but my guess is that Charlescraft was an importer/barbers supply house that had razors made in Germany for their business. The makers name may or may not be also be stamped on the tang. It really does not matter because Solingen is known for producing top quality blades regardless of who actually made them.

If you Google AB Gustaf Sandwall they were a company in Jankoping Sweden but there is no mention of razor making. That is not to say they did not make razors. Swedish razors are also quality razors.

You might find more help and info if you posted these on a shaving forum like SRP.

Just yesterday I also picked up an old straight that has the grind sweep into the tang like on yours. I don't know if they're related or not, but I found some interesting info in this thread while googling:
http://straightrazorplace.com/razors/70966-please-help-id-razor.html

French styling, made in the French speaking part of Switzerland, in Lausanne. It makes me wonder if yours could have also been made in Switzerland, and the Swedish name was the merchant/seller.

Nice to see you back!

Thanks' fellas..

I've been over on SRP.. [ http://straightrazorplace.com/razors/116939-new-guy-old-razors.html ] and gotten a LOT of good help and encouragement. These razors were passed to me by my Pop and I'm going to put em back in service.

The SRP folks think they should be used' vs. preserved and stored so the set are heading out to be professionally prepped to do just that.

I've used straight razors off and on and while I'm waiting for the return of this set I'm going to try a shave with my 'Scuba Demo' and 'Pentagon'.

You know compare and contrast? ..ha

Good luck with 'em, Defgrab. Please come back and let us know what you find out about 'em.

Thanks, Sodak. I still lurk on a semi-regular basis, but don't post much nowadays. Cheers.
