I have wanted a nice dagger for years but have never pulled the trigger on one, I think it's time. I am really drawn to the Fairbairn style as well as the Loveless style of daggers. The models from T.K. Steingass are the pinnacle to me. The SSD and his Vest dagger are amazing pieces and it would be a honor to own one; however they are unobtanium it would seem. Who else is producing exceptional daggers today that are available?

If you say that Steingass is the pinnacle, then why not get in touch with him?
He seems to be producing at a steady pace.
Are you in a particular rush?

Looking at his website I see that you are right about the books being closed, but he lists some as currently available including a "Loveless little bear" that looks fantastic.

T.K. makes great knives. I have two of his V42 style daggers.

The other two excellent military dagger makers are Les George and Brent Sandow.

If factory made is on your list you really cannot go wrong with the two daggers made by Spartan designed by Les George and Bill Harsey. I own both and they are close to custom quality as a factory knife can be.

Let me know if you would like to see pics. Good luck with your search:)
