Who can carve a name out of a blade?

I am passing along this request that I found on an obscure knife site. I think what he wants is his friend's name cut out of/into the blade like the Buck NRA commemorative pictured. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO ME AS I AM ONLY PASSING THIS ALONG!

need help! trying to find knife maker who can carve a friend's name completely through a knife blade. i have pattern selected and am in the process of finding a knife. i have until christmas!!! thankyou

Any knifemaker can do it. It just will not be a cheap job. That is done with hydro cutting. I guess it could be done by hand but I would not want to do it. What will make it costly is that you will have to cover both the setup fees, programming fees and run time all on one knife unlike the Buck in which they can stretch all the costs out over tens of thousands.
