Who can I send my knife to for reprofiling?

I recently got a Spyderco Sharpmaker to use with my ZT0300 and a few other knives. I had hoped to use it to bring the ZT0300's edge to 30 degrees inclusive, but now I can see that it'll take quite a bit of time this way. The knife has a mild recurve, in case anybody hasn't seen one before. Does anybody have suggestions on who to send the knife to for reprofiling? The closer they are to the St. Louis area, the better.

Thanks!

Or you could do it yourself. Go buy a norton stone from lowes (about $8 give or take) they are EXTREMELY coarse. You'd have to freehand it though.
Knifenut might also be able to do it.
Or Richard J

I would say Richard J is the right gent for the job. I would go with Tom Krein if you were trying to have the major blade bevel reground.

Send it to Tom. For $40 bucks, the blade will be a better cutter than from factory. I have 2 knives reground by Tom and have often thought about sending him my 0300. Just can't pull the trigger. Tom's regrinds are like surgical instruments

Post some pics when you get the blade work done.

I love my Norton Oil Stones but they're not so hot for the recurves. I've been able to use my 3/4" wide buffing paper wheel to touch up my Tyrade that has a bit of a recurve similar to a ZT0300. I think if I wanted to use the grit wheel to change the cutting edge angle I would buy one of the 1/4" shaper wheels to be more precise. Even then on a expensive knife like that I would have to practice quite a bit more and I would probably ask someone like knifenut or richard j to do it.

Tom Krein is a solid choice...Knifenut might be able do it for you as well:thumbup::D:D

Thanks for the suggestions, guys! I've given Tom a call, and I'll probably send the knife to him when I'm able to do without it for a while.

Another question here: How thin of a blade profile can this thing safely take? I don't want to have it too thin to be able to really hack at something, but I do like the idea of a narrower edge. It sounds like Tom usually puts an edge on that is slightly less than 30 degrees, I'm guessing 25-28. What are your experiences with S30v (or more specifically, the ZT S30v) and narrow bevels? I still have the factory edge on it, which is about 40 degrees, so I'm sure the <30 degree edge would already make a huge difference.
