I'm guessing Lippincott & Co Pittsburgh PA or something to that effect.

Thanks just found an axe online after searching Lippincott and I think the full stamp is "Lippincott & Co. Axe Mfd. By Hubbard & Co. Pittsburg, Pa.".
Way to go jb! All I can see is lots of print, a '...& CO' and an '...H. PA".
