Who can put a new handle on an ugly handled blade for me?

I have my eye on a particular blade that has a butt ugly handle and before I buy one I'd like to know if anybody here on the forums can recommend someone for a handle change? The blade I have in mind is the Ka-Bar Heavy Bowie, not a super fancy knife or steel but I like the clip point and it's just what I need for a hard use knife.

Thanks

The knife has no guard so I would like to add one, a stick tang I believe and I was thinking a new micarta handle.

Let’s see if we can find the right forum …

If you don't have any luck locally, send me an email and I'll look at the knife and see how hard it will be to remove the current handle. It should be pretty easy.

That sounds like a fine DIY project.
Here are my projects.

The Buck 119 was a rehandle, the others were blade blanks that I handled.
The only power tools used were a drill press (optional but handy) and a hand drill.
The rest was files, rasps, sandpaper & elbow grease.
I'm learning about the tools as I go.
If I can do this so can you.
Just take your time and enjoy the journey, don't rush to the end.

Tutorials abound...try the Brisa site to start :D

You can also try Chase Axinn of Chax Knives. I have some stuff that both he and STR did and their work is very high quality.

Dan O'Malley over at Epicureanedge.com and Bladegallery.com also does custom handles with ANY kind of wood, embellishments, exotic materials... etc etc.

Here's a Koa handle with mosaic pin that he did for a friend of mine.

if you're not in a hurry i could do it when my hands get better. check out my website if you want to see my work.
