Here's the story. Smoothsale where I had my old shopping site essentially betrayed all it's customers and pulled the plug with no warning. So I'm without a shopping site and I need and want one.

My job is trying to sell khukuris, make and keep happy customers, pals and nephews, not developing shopping sites. I'm no good at this. Do what you do best.

I know there's some guys on the forum who are experts and could build a good shopping site for me -- sure as hell a lot better than I can do it.

If you think you can do the job and would do the work in exchange for 3 or 4 khukuris (no kothimodas please!) then email me.

Arghh I wish I could I wish I could I wish I could ;) If no one else bites Uncle I could give it a shot. Though I think others on the forum could probably do it much better.

Thanks, Fed. We'll see what happens tomorrow. I'm sitting her wasting my time trying to do things I'm not qualified to do.

Do what you do best!!!!!!!!!

Old Cherokee proverb. Right, Bro?

Are you looking for some one to do HTML formatting on a web page you already have?

After thinking about it a bit, scratch my offer. Wouldnt know where to begin.

Uncle Bill,

Try going this route. At least if Yahoo falls it will make a big enough splash that we will know about it, and it might just give you a bit more visibility.

It looks like all the needed tools are available online.

Uncle,

What about posting this offer on General Knife Discussions? There are a couple of web-heads on the forums (including me).

I maintain the webpage for my company (John Hancock) but I've absolutely no experience in online payment processing which is important for what you want to do i.e. guys who have done something like this before. I'm real sorry not be able to be of more help - If I had the experience, I'd do it for a couple of beers...

I was under the impression that most online payment things would have to be outsourced by another company. While making a form is one thing, securing it and then doin the whole credit card thing is another. Id have to agree on the yahoo route if your looking for stability. There are a number of other companies that offer the whole shopping cart and secure checkout dealy, but I would think that yahoo would be the biggest and stablist.

I could sort of do one, wouldn't be very fancy though. And as long as all the pictures and graphics were premade. Depends on how fancy you want it.

Uncle are you looking for someone to make a shopping site complete with shopping cart and credit card acceptance, or are you looking for someone just to make a website?

No takers yet. I guess I'll have to keep on struggling with it.

Bro is there any way that your nephew Travis could set one up for you from where he lives?
I know absolutely nothing about such things, but wouldn't an URL be all that you need to connect with the site?

If Alan did already help you, great.

If you find no help I can offer you help in setting up the shop yourself and help you with coding of needed. Unfortunately I can not set up your shop from Germany, sniff :(

I think I may be able to get it up and running this weekend. I finally broke down and read the instructions.

It's going to take some false starts, uploading pix, and time but I think I'll be able to wade thru it. Many, may thanks to all those who emailed with offers of help. Much appreciated.
