These have caught my eye recently and i would like to know how those that carry them do so, are they comfortable? My concern with carrying a flashlight is that they're usually rather bulky. Haven't checked out this forum until now, i like it :)

I clip mine onto a cargo pocket or a heavy shirt pocket, and I don't even know it's there. They are very easy to carry. I use mine just about every day.

Edited to specify mine is the E2 model, which is pretty small.

komondor; thanks for the input, the E2 is the model that i have been looking at.

Nosamk; nice pic :D

I've never "worn" my M3. It usually travels in my backpack or glove box.

I've worn my M2 on my belt in a sheath from Surefire, as well as in/on cargo pants pockets, painters pants ruler pockets, a "cargo vest", and in a small fanny pack. After a few moments it disappears, unless of course you sideswipe something with it as you walk (haven't done it with my M2, but I have a Brinkman that's met its share of immovable objects and shows it).

Just got the E1e. It simply disappears wherever it is, unless it's in with other stuff. Not as much light output of course, but sure is convenient. It's been travelling in a cargo vest film pocket and and I do not know its there.

E2e would seem a perfect mix btwn the E1e and the M2.

I carry an E2 in the Sure Fire V82 holster. Very nice setup. I have to 'grope' to see if it's still there. I'm used to the 6P in the 'cop' holster.

I carry an E2e everyday. I only notice it if it's not there. It really is transparent and I use it quite frequently.

Usually just clip it in my pocket, or occasionally on my belt. Can't beat it for the size vs. amount of light.

My default EDC light is the E2e. The rest of my SF stable includes an M3, two M2's, E1, E2, and an 8NX. Like knives, SF's are addicting :D

Yes, indeedy they are. I have two 6Ps, a 9P, a 9N and a 3P. One 6P is always in my briefcase, another is in the console of my car. The 9P (with p91 200-lumen lamp assembly) is my nightstand light. The 3P goes with me in my front pocket whenever I'm not carrying my briefcase.

Carry my E2 daily in my left front pocket. It is more comfortable when wearing dockers-type pants than jeans, but it is not too uncomfortable in jeans.

E1, 3 E2's (1 black, 1 gunmetal and 1 HA), E2e, 6P and 8NX. I carry the E2e daily and keep the 8NX in the car (I hope those batteries can handle the summer heat). The M2 is the "bed" light with the P61 LA. I stash the E2's around the house (even let my wife carry one sometimes ;) ) and don't really use the E1 much anymore. Like a dumbass I decide to bead blast my 6P. Not my best idea to date.

Get one, you won't be disappointed.

I carry my Leatherman Wave every day and have been thinking about buying a G2 or 6P. This item from Dix Leather Works caught my eye: LINK

Roll call?

I carry a SureFire 6P. I run it with a P61 assembly in it and wow, it's bright. I tend to carry that, and a Photon Microlight - but recently have become a convert to the stream light stylus...

I've seen the e2e which looks nice, but I can't justify the cost - as I *personally* [ducks the brickbats of others] don't see the justification. The 6P with the hot assembly chucks out 120Lu - which is as bright as I'm likely to need. I carry it in a holster on my belt though - which attracts the odd glance in the office...

i chose a streamlight scorpion over a surefire 6p as it was a little cheaper to buy the unit, AND the replacement bulbs for the scorpion are 25%-30% of the price of a replacement sf lamp in the UK. as its my edc it gets a good amount of use hence my concern over the cost of replacement parts.

i may move up to a surefire if i have some extra cash to spend in the future but i do really like the rubber grip of the streamlight 1)its more tactile and 2)for the ability to hold the light in my mouth and use both hands for whatever i am doing.

i bought my wife a surefire e1 for edc and she loves it, lets hope she doesnt use it much as the only quote i have for replacment lamps for the e1 in the UK is £25 each !! i expect i will be buying those online from elswhere ;)

if you want a good amount of light in a small package the surefire e1 is pretty hard to beat, its only slightly larger than a cigerette lighter and shouldnt be too bulky in a front pocket.

hey - good to see another UK guy here :D
I'd suggest www.tool-shop.com for the e1 lamp - it looks like 16 Euros about GBP10.

It's also where I get my DL123's

[only 15 lumens? my 6P does 120]

ta for that info, yeah it was a wellknown uk online dealer offering the e1 lamp unit to me for £25 each(actually from memory i think it was £28!!)

i know the e1 is only 15 lumens but its good enough for an everyday light if you dont want any 'tactical' kind of brightness. i would gauge it to be about as bright as a 2-d cell maglite.

the 6p is 65 or 120 lumens isnt it? i'd guess my streamlight scorpion to be about 55-60 lumens when comparing it to a m8's 6p and the scorpion has a good runtime on 2 cr123a batteries, over an hour. how long does the 120 lumen lamp take to burn through 6v of 123a?.

my scorpion is certainly bright enough for me and the e1 is bright enough for the wife.

if i were to move up to a surefire it would prob be the e2, i really like the way they look and i could always add a bit of inner tube on the end to make it teeth friendly. are they 60 lumens also?

funny story time - whilst in the US a few months ago i thought i would buy my wife a nice surefire e1 light. i had previously ordered my scorpion from a US online dealer a couple of years ago so it was 'old news' to me. so im in some huge sportsmans supply shop asking the staff about the flashlights they sell, well one of them takes me on a long walk to an aisle with lots and lots of lights, mostly maglites and fishing/camping type lamps. not a streamlight or surefire among them, being somewhat disapointed i pull my scorpion out of my pocket and switch it on, illuminating the already daytime aisle and saying "got any like this one?". well the assistant nearly fell over "gee, thats a really neat light. where could i get one of those??"

*me slaps head* "er, i was hoping you could tell me"

all ended happily though as i finally got a e1 from a police supply store on my last day in the US.

Surefire M2. Waterproof, shock-absorbing bezel, tough Pyrex lens, lock-out tailcap. :D

If you carry it in a sheath designed for a larger folding knife, it will fit right on your belt beside your knife.

Ha!. Not long at all - which is why you need LEDS lamps too [and cheap DL123s]

Yeah, sure are - which is why I haven't upgraded yet.

I'm also waiting for an Arc-AAA and a Batonlite to arrive - I quite like LED stuff too!

I can't quite see why people pay UK prices though... particularly online.

I carry an Surefire E2 in my backpack during the day and in my left front pocket at night.

I just got a petzl zipka LED light for the times that I don't need so much light.
