I get the feeling that some places call it "tan" or "coyote" or "fde" but what I'm looking for is what Dan Koster and Andy Roy of Fiddleback Forge use/refer to as "Natural Canvas Micarta." The only thing my google foo has turned up has been big blocks of about 1 inch thick. I've got some knives I need a fella to make, but I need to scrounge up a bunch of Nat Can Micarta in 1/4 inch thick slabs. Either 1.5 inch by 10 inch by 1/4 inch pieces, or big sheets 1/4 inch thick that I can rip down to size for the order.

Any leads on that?

Thanks!!

or just look for brown, usaknifemaker.com has it usually. I just bought some to use on a customer's knife. Tracy also has some dark brown that looks good too, but I get the impression it's a limited supply and when it's gone it's gone. The standard brown seems to be what most folks call "natural" though.
Coyote and tan are generally lighter, FDE is a different shade...

Something to keep in mind, if Tracy has the color and material but it's the wrong dimensions, email him, you never know what size it's coming in at.

I'm able to get it in many thicknesses locally. I've called around looking for kydex and found a couple local distributors, went to one to pick up a sheet and a guy was buying a slab of what we refer to as jade green G10, so I inquired about other products and they had G10 sheet and rod, micarta (canvas, linen and paper) sheet and rod, and a lot of other stuff... Anyway, they said that anybody who sells ABS sheet (places like TAP plastics) would likely carry all that stuff. So, FWIW, maybe you can find it locally? It was at Port Plastics here in Portland, but I see they have one in fort worth as well (no clue how close that is to you...)

Good luck in your search!

I think it's called CE Garolite on McMaster Carr's website. Been buying it there for years. Cheaper than some also.

www.popsknifesupply.com Pop is the cheapest place I've found for micarta. His handle bolts are cheaper than anybody else also. As a matter of fact if Pop has it its usually cheaper than anybody else.
