Big like Military, Civilian or Starmate.

I'm wondering how does it feel?
Comfortable, okay, heavy, . . .or what?

Got one of Mike's neck sheath for my Military, the load and distribution is excellent. Would lug this when I'm on the wheel or on a boat when I'm fishing. So, there's no need for all that fidgeting and unsightly body movements... *hee-hee!*

I need, want, lust for a Mike Sastre neck sheath for the Starmate. Ok ok, I might not need it, but want and lust for it just the same. It will take me a few weeks to get it, though, since I'm making a purchase soon that will set me back a little. But who knows...if I win that neck sheath contest and they approve my request for a Starmate instead of the sheaths offered, I might get it even sooner!

Flood,

If you win the contest you can always trade whatever you get to me for the Starmate, but I'm sure Larry at Blade Art will be happy to accomoadte you.

Santi,

I've carried a Civilian or G-10 Harpy around my neck for a few years with no problems. However, now it's a Matriarch most of the time. Military or Starmate are lighter than the Civilian, and the blade deployment with any of the larger knives is sweet.

I have a Sastre sheath for each of the three Starmate, Civilian, Military. I've grown accustomed to wearing one or the other on a daily basis.

I've had more paper cuts than cuts from knives, but the knives are QUICKLY gaining!

Many thanks,

Just curious, can Civilian and Matriarch share the same neck sheath?

Santi, I wouldn't think so. Their handles are a different shape and the Civilian is tip-down while the Matriarch is tip-up.

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow....in Australia it's tomorrow already.

Santi,

All the sheaths are very knife specific as it is the molded shape that holds the knife. Any change in handle material or pocket clip shape with a given model will require an accompanying change in the sheath. Matriarch and Civilian sheaths are very different.

At one time or another I have carried both the Military and the Civilian as neck knives. Because I don't wear things around my neck, the extra weight took a while to become accustomed to.

I have a kydex sheath for the Military, but really didn't care for it. I found that a loop of Velcro, or even a sturdy piece of string, strung through the thumb hole and the neck chain served every bit as well without the added weight of the sheath. It also cost a heck of a lot less.

All you need is love... a sharp blade and a full clip

Thanks!

Tonie:- Just curious, as you said. . . "I found that a loop of Velcro, or even a sturdy piece of string, strung through the thumb hole and the neck chain served every bit as well without the added weight of the sheath. "

But then, how do you "quick draw" the knife?
