This is kind of a poll
I'm just wondering how many of us are walking around with a fixed blade in their boot or on there belt 24/7.
Also what kind and what size is it?

I do!

Well, almost....I usually carry a folder at work because it is more unobtrusive with my style of dress there BUT I do carry a fixed blade everywhere else. I usually rotate the following depending on my mood, the season, where I'm going, etc: Cold Steel Desperado, custom Polkowski 8 Ball, CRKT Kasper Companion, or Randall 14.

Okay truth is I may get a BM 100 or the 145, But I didn't want to make this another "Which Knife Thread" Thanks for all your input

Hey..

Usually wear some type of knife everyday,,most of the day..

The only time I wear a knife and it doesn't leave my body is when I'm camping....

When I camp it never leaves my person, even while sleeping...

Funny you should ask... I decided that this weekend I would carry around my little Dozier neck/utility knife on my belt. I went everywhere I usually go with it; the rifle range, the book store, the supermarket. No problems and it is incredibly fast to deploy. I found it especially handy in the kitchen. I'm now sold on carrying a small utility belt knife. I won't be able to carry at work. Officially it is a "no weapons" facility so I carry a folder to be technically legal (and more discrete).

I haven't carried a folder in some time. My daily carry is a small neck knife that I just stick in my pocket or around the neck. Mostly in the front pocket. It has about a 2 1/2" blade of 52100. Sometimes with scales, sometimes without scales, but always with me.

I don't currently carry a fixed blade every day, but I'm working on that problem. ;) I have a Dozier K-2 and a Jens Anso Hybrid on order. They should both prove to be excellent EDC fixed blades. :D

Sort of, I make knives and rotate regularly. I gave away most of my folders so I'm down to a BM750 Pinnacle, and 2 home made drop point hunters (3.5 inch blade, 8" overall) for daily carry. Generally if I'm going to be "in town" alot, I'll go with the Pinnacle (folder) to avoid any potential hassle, or causing the sheeple to stampede.
I have carried the fixed blades to town lots of times and at work frequently. I carry them in a kydex sheath on my right hip next to my gerber pliars, my shirt is tucked in they're in plain sight. No one has ever said anything about the fixed blades, whether they were on my belt or being used.

I carry a CS Recon Tanto about 50% of the time with no questions asked, and when that's not appropriate, I carry a CS mini bushman in one of Normark's fine sheaths....

I've been trying to carry a fixed blade whenever possible lately. All my fixed blades are belt carry and I've been rotating the following: an Emerson LaGriffe (using a pull-the-dot belt strap), a Camillus CQB-2, a RW Clark Model 1, and a Dozier Arkansas Tootpick. I don't wear a fixed blade at home or when I don't have a belt on (jogging, etc).

I have 3 mini-Tek Locks on order and plan to install them on each of these fixed blades (the CQB-2 comes standard with one). The Tek-Lock isn't perfect, but it's the mounting system I like best, and I will probably carry a fixed blade more often when all of mine are equipped with a Tek-Lock.

Usually it is my Dozier straight personal about 80% of the time, with a switch to Dozier Ark toothpick or my new Lamey Urban Bowie. I carry a stockman for super evident sheeple situations, but am feeling more and more comfortable carrying my straight personal... quite possibly the best ever fixed blade for EDC.
My only regret now is that I didn't pony up the bucks to upgrade to stag. It would have greatly increased the cost, but heck I carry this knife daily, and I love stag!
feeling a tiny bit of remorse,

What I carry depends largely on weather/clothing. Lately, I've been carrying my LaGriffe w/ a short static-cord rig IWB. With a sportcoat/suit I usually carry a super-lightweight necker w/ a paddle-style kydex sheath by our own John Ownby (knife141) inverted in the inside breast pocket. http://www.johnownby.com/gallery6.htm A modified REKAT Fang (w/ micarta slabs) rides in the same spot in my heavy leather jacket. I try to keep FB's for "public" carry to under 4" to keep from running afoul of the local constabulatory. I've openly carried a couple of FBs from time to time if in the "right place" (camping, hiking, gun/knife show, etc.). My advice (FWIW) would be to keep 'em small.

My advice: be aware of the local laws!
I live and work in Seattle; Seattle Municipal Codes prohibit the carry of a fixed blade REGARDLESS of blade length or manner of sheathing. My little 1" Tekna keychain knife is as illegal to carry as my Bud Nealy Aikuchi in 3" Darryl Meier damascus... or anything bigger...
So, I must plead the 5th as my answer may only serve to incriminate me...

EDC, IWB ;)

I don't think we can count your vote Neil, if I could make knives that cool I'd carry TWO of them everyday ;)

That is a cool knife!! thanks Neil

I have been impressed with the dozier products as well. Haven't decided on one yet though. Whatever I get will have to be very normal look and sheeple friendly is a must.
At least it has to look sheeple friendly when it in the sheath once I pull it out I don't mind if there's a stamped :p

I always have a slipjoint in my pocket, but even at work I now wear a fixed blade every day. The three that I rotate at this time are an Ed Fowler Pronghorn, a Ron Leuschen integral and a Rick Dunkerly bird and trout. In the next little while there will be more being added.

A lot of the time, I'll carry a Busse Assault Shaker, either horizontally on my belt, or in one of my front pockets. I'm waiting on a Busse Skeleton Key, and I'm wondering how I can set up a GrooveMaster for edc. At about 9" overall it's not exactly unobtrusive, but it seems very functional.

Lightfoot C4, kydex sheath inserted into self-modified front pocket carry pouch for fast deployment. LaGriffe in belt mount sheath. Soon to be carrying Polkowski-made companion in lefty IWB.

I can't say I carry it 24/7 but whenever I leave the house and it won't get in my way, I have a fixed blade on my belt and a Case Trapper or Spyderco Delica in my front right pocket. If I'm going to do something active, like golf, disk golf, cycling, etc. I will carry only my Spyderco Delica because its small, light and stays out of the way. Otherwise, its usually my Cammillus Cuda Arc Lite neck knife that I wear on my belt using a Tek Lok buckle, but that will soon be replaced with a Dozier Straight Personal on my birthday in Sept.

I got the Cuda Arc Lite because I had ordered my Dozier but had never carried a fixed blade before so I wanted to get used to it. What I found was that I really like carrying a fixed blade, its very comfortable, easy to deploy, and goes fairly unnoticed if I don't tuck my shirt in. I also found that this little Cuda knife is excellent for $20. Add in $8 for the Tek Lok buckle and $2 for some black bootlace to wrap the handle in and you get an amazingly well performing belt knife for $30. I'm going to keep this in my backpack for school (college campus, legal to carry blades under 5")
