I have an idea i would like to try out, but am completely new at this. I would like to make a small run of prototypes and test modles to work out my design, nothing over 20 peices. I was wondering who you all would recommend to precision machine or laser cut a small run of blades (about 1.5 in by 5 in, aprox.5/32 from 440c). I also need to by the steel, so if one place could do the whole thing, that would be great. I'll be grinding and finishing on my own, but I don't have the resources to cut all the blanks. I'm looking for the best compromise between quality and price, but price is a determining factor. Any ideas on companies and prices? Thanks a bunch, i appreciate the help.

Admiral Steel (http://www.admiralsteel.com/)is thought highly of for laser cutting and steel supply. Also, look around in your local area. I found a firm that does custom water-jet cutting right near me.

Afee, be sure to give Admiral your finished dimensions, or just send them a pattern that's aboput 1/16" bigger in all directions.

e_utopia, whats the companie's name and contact info??? I think the next batch I get cut out, I'm gonna go with a company that can water jet cut them.
