Disassembly is no issue. The lock face with be re-carbidized after coating as not to slip. The detent ball should be fine but the detent hole could always be opened up a bit if needed to make up for the coating. I agree that the biggest challenge is getting someone to do a one-off order. Maybe I'll just DLC all my things? You would need to disassemble the knife. And I don't know what it would do to anything like a detent ball. If the titanium lock bar has a steel insert at the lock face, I don't know what that would do either.
That being said, DLC coating is a vacuum vapor disposition process. (Means it takes lots of expensive equipment.) I think you'd have to look up one of the big processors who performs that type of coating process. I don't know if they would take a one-off order. No little guys exist as far as I know.
