I sent in a 25+ year old Buck 110 in to warranty repair recently. The blade was very worn down. I sent a note saying that if a good regrind on the blade was not possible to just put in one of the boxes they keep for Missionaries as it wasn't of much use to me as is. So they are off the hook, just sharpen it and throw it in the box for a very good cause. Right? I got it back a little over 3 weeks later, polished and primped to almost new condition with a brand new blade. It is in such good condition that I almost hate to use it. Standing behind their knives is just what Buck does.

What other knife companies stand behind their product like Buck does? I mean a 25+ year old knife (and yes I told them it was that old.) No registration, no proof of purchase, just you wore it out and we will fix it. It is heartening that an American company continues to demonstrate these kinds of high standards.

I've had excellent service from Buck (once) and Benchmade (twice - [once above and beyond]). Haven't had the occasion to test any others yet.

Only company I've contacted for this was Victorinox. I sent in a beat up Classic and got one NIB in the mail a few weeks later.

Buck is a great family run business. It is the true commitment to customers who own and use their products that keeps Buck Knife Company ahead of the game. While others are closing, Buck continues to grow and evolve with the new customer demands. It is always interesting to me when Buck does a new collaboration. Theirs have traditionally been very true and faithful representative of the designers custom blades, but at a Buck price. Great company. But American, save a job. Still sounds good to me. I love my customs!

Peace.

i know this is off the subject but i was wondering whats the name of the knife on NickZac's reply????

Correct...it is a Chris Reeve Jeroboam Mk II, one piece Hollow Handle knife made of A2 tool steel. It is a big boy with a 9 inch blade...a true bushcraft knife.

I have yet to have a decent quality knife from a well known company need to be sent in.

When it happens, I'll let ya know the result! My Spydies and Bucks get used the most though, so it will prob be one of those two. I have no doubt I'll be taken care of.

MOD has treated me right twice. The first time I sent in my knife(blade play problem), it was sent back a few days later. The second time I sent it in (within 3 months of the first time for the same problem) Michael Janich personally talked to me about the problem. He paid for me to ship it to him OVERNIGHT and he shipped it back to me OVERNIGHT. He couldn't fix the problem and said hes never seen it before. He didn't have my version of the MOD CQD MarkII so he took my old blade and put it into a brand new body. Wala new knife!! For all the trouble I went through, Michael even sent me a free copy of his Martial Blade Concepts DVD.

It is great to hear and see that other comapnies out there really stand behind their products.

I have had dealings with both Benchmade's and Spyderco's customer service and they both were top notch.
