Who does mods and knifesmithing? Handle inserts, reshaping, polishing, etc.

Can anyone recommend a knifesmith? I want some handle inserts done and maybe some custom polishing.

Well over 1000 degrees F and sustained for quite some time if I remember correctly. Yeah, the search feature here seems to me to be just a few steps above being totally useless…. :foot:

I gave my b8 to a knifemaker for a regrind, i hope the heat treat is safe

Seem to remember it as ~900F. Any competent maker should be able to keep it below that. OTOH, if the edge or blade fails in any way, one cannot expect Busse to cover an outside regrind.

Yeah, that actually sounds more accurate than what I previously mentioned.

Not sure if Ban Tang works on Busse/Kin anymore, but I know Norcalblacktail would be happy to fix you up….. There's always the shop that made the knife too, but I imagine that would equal a significantly longer wait….
