I'm thinking of buying a Cold Steel Bushranger and have someone strip it down and rehandle it. Is there anyone doing this type of work? What do you think is a fair price for such a service?

I think the Bushranger would look killer with a fancier handle and a nice polish. There was a picture RMLamely put up of a reworked Trailmaster. Bushrangers have that traditional and hard to find Sheffield look, it's got good steel (Carbon V), is cheap ($50) and comes with a decent leather sheath.

I dunno... I live in Canada and the price that I ship it down and have it rehandled and ship back up would cost like 2/3 of the knife itself (I have the SRK)
I don't really think it's worth it myself for the prices that I'll be paying. I'm better off getting a Becker and ask somone to woodwork some handles.
