who edc's a 3.5-4 inch fixed

I have a ZT 0550 in my EDC rotation, but I don't carry the same knife every day. In my EDC rotation, I have the ZT 0550 (3.5 inches), a RAT 1 (3.6 inches), a 3.25 inch blade and a 2.75 inch blade for when I wear dress pants.

I've carried a CRKT Dragon on multiple occasions - even at work at my retail job. Nobody seemed to mind or really even take notice.

I work at a pet store, but really I'm friggin' retail batman.

Fixed blade? Is that the question? 3" Tops Ute. Not 3 1/2 but every bit as effective. And as strong as about anything.

I will EDC a fixed with a 5.5 inch blade. I just don't have it yet. It's pretty compact over all considering the blade size. 9.5 inch total over all length.

He stated fixed blade, not folding.

Sorry - apparently I can't read!

No need to apologize.

If anything, you've just illustrated how much more compact a folding knife is. If you want a fixed blade with a 3 inch blade, chances are that the handle will be at least 3 inches in length most of the time. Of course, there are some tiny fixed blades with 2-finger grips and a decent blade length given the over all total length, but those are few and far. Based on the knives on the market right now, a fixed blade with the criteria the OP is looking for will have a 6 inch+ overall length, probably closer to 7.

That is the reason the fixed blade I have coming in shortly is a custom one with the dimensions I laid out. 5.5 inch blade and 4 inch handle. The handle is just sized for my grip. Consequently, there are some 4 inch blade knives that fold up to be less than 5.5 inches.

Rat 3 and Blackjack Model 155. Not a whole lot the Rat can't handle, and the 155 uses like a larger knife once you get some handle scales on it.

I have carried my ESEE 3 IWB a decent amount and can say its pretty comfortable. Clears up a pocket to.

I really liked the Fallkniven kolt, then went with the juni. Both are solid performers with excellent steels. I prefer to run a ball chain & neck carry
DPX GEAR 3 & 4" fixed carry well especially with the aftermarket boltaron sheaths they sell on their site.

Busse Mean Street, in a horizontal holster by Armorall leather
I ordered the knife with double liners, to get the thickness of the handle to where it was usable.

The sheath can be worn vertical or horizontal. Great design, totally snug fit.

I carried this combo for years.

I edc'd a Fallkniven F1 in a leather belt sheath that didn't ride especially high when I was a younger fella and didn't care if folks took notice of a "big scary knife". Very comfortable setup, but I try to fly under the radar nowadays, school functions and all.

Ever since I got this "EDC Fighter" by Kyle Hanson, I've been carrying it almost everyday. Don't have it today because I have to meet customers all day, but it will be in my pocket tomorrow as well. Great slicer with what I can only call a zero-ground edge that is super nice and thin!

The Paul Long pocket sheath is insanely nice as well. Great retention but a silky draw on it. Rides Shotgun with a Shirogorov without touching too ;)

i used to, but then i realized one day a good folder handled 99% of what i needed. when i did it wasn't too big and worked well. typically i carried an esee 3, when i did carry one.

Just started carrying this (Mule Team 2/Slim CF scales) for the past week or so, trying to sort it out. Never liked anything on my hip/belt or IWB, not comfortable, cant get used to it. Easier if I can shift it around during the day. Using this for EDC/utility primarily, (electrician) as opposed to stickily S/D, which I would carry different. I want a cross draw horizontal in Kydex/CF. I think that would serve both utility and SD equally.

Charr that is very good looking knife.

I second that for sure!

Thank you both! It really is an exquisite little blade, and it is very well done! Was the first tapered tang that Kyle had done apparently, and it was done exceptionally well! The knife is very good for slicing through almost everything, and the damascus is a good mix hardened to 60-61rc, so it works very well and should hold it's edge much better than most other damascus that I see around.
