I just recieved an AFCK 800 in M2. I love the knife, the cut outs for the liners are great. It has some blade play horizontally when opened and sometimes its not centered in the liners when closed, i have to manually figit with the blade to get it centered. i dont really care, its an easily fixed problem, does anyone else have this problem? does anyone like this knife as much as i do? :)

ive got one.
great knife.

one of the best out there, and most popular among knife people.

dont worry about the blade being centered. its not a big deal.
and about the play, if you become dissatisfied, send it to them, theyll fix it.

great knife,i keep mine in my car for when TSHTF.

I have an 812 in M2, and it has the same problem. My theory is that the handle slabs aren't rigid enough to keep from bending slightly. Other than that it's a great little knife.

I have an 800SBT, as well as two mini-AFCK's. Obviously I love the design. Once I dropped mine and the blade became uneven in the handles when closed. With the knife closed, I simply applied light force to 'bend' the knife until the blade was again centered back to normal and no more problems.

Over the past year I've come to like the 710 much more than the AFCK, but the AFCK remains a great classic and still occasionally gets pocket time, especially it makes a good jogging knife IWB.

AFCK is a great design. You can fix the blade play with a little adjusting of all of the screws, not just the pivot. I have found each knife requires a different pattern of tightening and loosening of the screws. Play with it a little and you will find a happy medium.

I have to say the new AFCK II has addressed these problems from that last "generation" of AFCKs. I have two of the new models and I am extremely pleased. No blade play, the blade lines up dead center and there is no liner rub. It looks like the liners may be a bit thicker and they have definetly used a wider pivot bushing.

I have my NIB BM800FSBT and it is wicked.

My AFCK is the 804HS. I, too, occasionally need to adjust it to bring the blade back to center when it is closed. Therefore, I spend some evenings making adjustments to the various screws to bring the blade back to its center alignment. I have thus far been successful each time, but must confess that I have yet to find a specific pattern to the screw adjustments and so begin anew each time. However, it is not an unpleasant task and gives me a chance to play with a really great knife.
