Just wondering, I love my G2 so much. I used to carry around a MiniMag but after turning my G2 on one time I put the Mag in a drawer. My G2 is even brighter than my full size Mag by a good deal, and there's no blind spots in the beam itself.

Here is a bad picture of the beams of all three.

i have a G2 with the P61 lamp

i'm really thinking about getting a 6P Defender though

Isn't there a way to get lithium batteries with higher mAH ratings so the P61 lamp doesn't run the batteries out in 20 minutes?

not sure, heck i haven't even had it long enough to have to replace the batteries

now my Fenix L1P that i manage to turn on in my pocket, i have replaced quite a few batteries in that...

I just replaced me G2's for the first time, I was using it one night and it was fine and then the very next day it didn't work. It happened so suddenly that I thought the bulb blew out because mine also turned itself on once, so I figured it was on for awhile face down. I finally got some more batteries and it worked fine, but I lock out the tailcap every time now just to be sure.

The dead batteries register at about 2.7v instead of their usual 3v. Seemed weird to me that they would die totally at that voltage instead of just getting dimmer.

I also have a G2 and love it. I have the p61 lamp but haven't used it yet, when the original burns out I am replacing it with that. Great light.

The Lithiums go fast once they get weak in a SF. If you have an Inova Led like the originals put the old Lithiums in it and the Inova will shine for quite awhile. And don't pay camera battery prices for the batteries. Get them from Surefire in bulk for $1.50 or so. We take up locker room collections and order 100's at a time. Thing is I have 4 lights using up those batteries at a time.

I have several SF's and believe in them. I panicked last time I misplaced my E2E. I drove an hour back to the field I thought I lost it in and searched for an hour but never found it. Of course I didn't find it, because it was where I put it, I just couldn't remember where that was at the moment.

I have a G2 but 1 hour is very short .I'll be using my Pelican 3330 more often .It has the same batteries but a LED lamp .Full brightness [about half of the G2 brightness] for 4 hours and goes down from there for a total of about 40 hours.

I couldn't see spending $20 on batteries even if they were $1.50 each, so I found a place that let me buy 2 for $5.40 with free shipping.

I have a C2, an E2e, an L1, an old Laser Products 6Z, and an old style E2. I like em all. The 6Z came on in a jacket pocket once and melted the lens, and if you drop one of the incandescents you can kill the bulb. Otherwise, no problems.

It's a little funny because I bought mine on a whim. I was bored and felt like having a bright flashlight, so I just found Surefire in some catalog and started reading up on them and bought one within the week.

A picture due to boredom...

I have an E2D that has saved my butt more than once. Not for fighting anyone off but as a screwdriver and a box opener it has served me well.

Surefire inventory:

1 yellow G2 attached to my fire helmet with the SF M16 helmet mount.

1 yellow G2 in my bunker gear coat.

1 black G2 in my Jeep.

1 OD green G2 in my Chevy.

1 E2e as my EDC

1 E1e in my daypack.

1 M2 Centurion as my house light.

That is a total of 7 Surefire lights. I trust my life to the yellow G2's that I carry on the job. They have saved my ass on more than one occassion.
