Maybe a Backpocket folder with WIFI and a dedicated Traditional folder feed so you can keep up with the forum while out whittling. Possibly an instant upload camera built in that gives blade eye views of cutting.

No, wait. Wireless integration with Google Glass that gives you an augmented view of just the right cuts to make and in what sequence for a variety of whittling projects. Yeah, that's it! You could even have a little LED on the knife that is red when you aren't aligned properly and goes green when you are for each cut.

But the knife still has to be in bone or stag scales with brass liners and carbon steel blades.
