Loved your caiman review..๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
The pictures were gone for me this morning but now they're back again so I don't know what's going on with that. Ed does amazing work and I miss Newt, his work was fantastic as well.

He really does do awesome work. And Ed is just a great human being in general. In fact the wooden handled Bush Hunter I just recently bought to be the knife and size reference I use in a book I'm working on that started out as a plant ID book and developed into a book on the evidence of intelligent design in nature. Because Ed was largely responsible for me getting back into the Church, and because I wanted a simpler design for this particular project.

Yes, he does.

Mistwalker Mistwalker was THE reason that I chose to purchase a Boker Plus "Apparo", many years ago.

In the event that you don't know, the Apparo is a hollow-handled "survival" knife that is based on the IP that Newt Martin (*Ed's son, R.I.P.) licensed to Boker before he passed.

I am blessed to own some high-quality hollow-handled knives, and the Apparo is right up there with the best of them. Beyond that, it hasn't been available for some time and is becoming quite sought-after.

If it weren't for Mistwalker, I probably wouldn't own the two that I do. โค๏ธ

Yeah, Ed is pretty anal about what he lets out of his shop. One of only a few makers whose tools I'd trust my life to in the apocalypse with no questions asked. And thank you, I appreciate the compliment!

Thank you! The production Apparo, which roughly translated Apparo means "I am ready" impressed me a great deal, with Newt's design capabilities and with Boker's execution of it, and Boker's heat treat of the 440C steel. Pretty remarkable knives. I haven't checked lately, but I assume they've only gone up in value.

Thank you! The Caiman review was a labor of love, as I got to help Newt design it, then I got to name it, and then I got to test it. I need to see if I cn dig up some of the original images and fix that thread, I haven't used photobucket in years.

I hate the circumstances that came along after. Between the after effects of chosing the wrong business partner (my own brother) in Michigan in 2013 and 2014...we haven't spoken in 11 years. The after effects of choosing the wrong life partner and going through a divorce starting in 2016, the breaking my leg in 2017 and being a single dad, I had to sell off everything good and cool that I had that I was saving to sell for my retirement in another 10 years.

I'm just now getting my life back together. But it was a learning experience of to not put my faith in people but in God. I'm just now getting my life back together, and with Ed being largely responsible for me getting back into the church, a couple of his knives were the first two hand made knives I bought. I don't want to have as many knives as I once had, but I do still want to add 1 by every knife maker I'm friends with just because. One from Todd Hunt will likely be next.

I really perfer to not have anyone send me anything any more to be honest. I mean the Caiman was part my design so I wanted to test my own theories of course. But people sending things sometimes comes presuppositions that are best avoided. I prefer to buy things I like, or have a maker who still takes orders make something I designed. Then if all goes well do some postive posts and mini reviews around them I guess.
Now, I wish he was in My first Pass Around...... :D
The stuff they are talking about was about 14 or 15 years old I think, started in 2011 with Newt's stuff. I was in my forties and didn't mind hiking all over the mountainside, and all over Florida swamps, stooping and bending and whaling and chopping and cutting stuff. These days, other than briers in my way when I am after plant illustration images, most of my cutting happens at a cutting board during cooking and herb lore. Or the occasional feather sticks to start a fire if I get cold. That last knife you put on IG looks good, I think you're on the right track.
He'll give whatever you send a workout and tell us ALL about iit.....๐Ÿ‘Œ.........In great style too.......Plain easy to read and nice pics of work in progress stuff too.......He just does a review RIGHT....๐Ÿ‘
Thanks for the compliments! I'm getting a bit old to enjoy the choppers as much as I once did. But I still enjoy the hiking, edc, small food prep knives etc. It just takes me a little longer to put it together these days with the jobs I have.

Who doesn't like his work? I was checking out his stuff back in the day in gun shows in Texas 20 years back. Cool then, better now. You do a good write up..to jump on the above comments. Sorry to hear about so many troubles, but glad to hear your on the path now. Faith in man is folly.

I apologize!๐Ÿ˜ฑ Didnt mean to put you off or out there with a windfall of steel at the mailbox and A boatload of expectations.........Wish others would follow your review model....๐Ÿ˜‰

Life definitely laffs at whatever plans we make and sometimes makes us suffer accordingly๐Ÿ˜ฅ......
And personally, I always get to learn from my mistakes painfully....... Definitely makes it stick with you though๐Ÿ˜‰

It does however make those GOOD times that much better....... Happy to hear you're on the other side all your previous angst........๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Yeah, Ed does some really nice work. And thank you! I still enjoy doing the writeups, I just prefer doing smaller knives these days. I think it may only be through struggles that bring us to our knees that we can find and appreciate God.

"Faith in man is folly" If I were a tattoo person, I would probably get this tattooed on me as one of the many lessons I've learned in my journey back to the church.
Some nice ones there! I still want an Apocalypse Bowie

LOL, no worries brother, and I think I may have inspired a few over the years.

Isn't that the truth. But it's definitely the higher prices that make the best learned lessons.

It definitely whets the appreciation. The deeper and more harrowing the trials and tribulations, the sweeter the triumph
