Who else makes a Gator?

I like the looks of the Gerber Gator clip point model shown in following url....

http://www.gerberblades.com/products/view.php?model=6069

But I don't like the blade steel specified as "400 series". All that says is that it is probably no more than 420SS which is the low end of blade steels. Also, most Gerbers now come with blades stamped Taiwan, which means "whatever" they want it to be.

So my question to those of you who know your blades and grips better than I do,....

Does anybody else make a knife that looks like the Gator clip point and grip but with a decent steel.....like maybe 154CM or such??

And, wow, if you've got a picture, that'd be great.

Cheers,
og............still shopping for more knives.

I had a few Gators when I was a kid. From what I remember, they were made in the US at the time. They might still be made here; I'm not sure though.
